POS Latency & Offline Integrity

Cloud POS systems are incredible right up until the internet drops at 2 PM on a Saturday. We tested 5 major providers on their true offline capabilities.

Many vendors claim "offline mode", but technically this often only means they queue credit card tokens for later processing. True offline mode requires:

  1. Ability to search the full local item database.
  2. Ability to queue inventory deductions to sync later without corrupting the master count.
  3. Ability to print local receipts.
